Year 9, 10 and 11 DCIS students set to embark on eight day NAE community service expedition to Tanzania

This November, 11 DCIS students and over 100 other classmates from a dozen different Nord Anglia Education (NAE) schools will take part in an eight day community service expedition to Tanzania. The aim is to build connections, develop high performance learning amongst local students and become true global citizens.

The Tanzania project is a service learning initiative of NAE, bringing together students from across the organization's global network of 42 schools. Students will help renovate school buildings and other volunteer work giving them the opportunity to help a community in need while learning how aid projects like this are successful. The students will work closely with the village residents to ensure the changes put in place are something the villagers can sustain on their own and that can serve as an example for possible future projects.

The 11 DCIS students from Y9 to Y11 will be also get the opportunity to take part in a 2 day safari in Tarangire National Park. This amazing opportunity will allow them to experience one of the world’s greatest concentrations of wildlife as a fitting end to their Tanzanian expedition.

In addition there has been a student contest to design the accompanying t-shirt for the trip. We will publish the final design in the next few weeks so watch this space.
