During Monday’s registration time we ran training for the Communication team of the Student Council. It is a different model to usual student councils and so it is important to make sure that the Communication team are equipped with the skills required to keep up the momentum.
We explored the different elements of our school community that we want to gather information from and also give messages to. The students have a challenge to connect with students from a range of age groups, language and cultural background as well as the wide range of adults, for example teaching staff, business and administration, parents and third party contractors.
They began to explore the best methods to use to connect with each diverse group. Next week we will resume our training and try to focus on a few methods of communication to perfect.

Our Year 7 students went on two amazing trips to Sibu Island, Malaysia, for their year group residential. Surrounded by the beauty of nature and immersed in a vibrant new culture, students had the chance to connect with their friends and make memories that will last forever.
