Year 2 classes present special assembly about Buddha and his teachings, how to meditate and everything that goes into celebrating Vesak Day
The children from 2SF and 2RE have worked very hard over the past few weeks learning about and preparing for this special Vesak Day assembly. They have learned about Buddha and his teachings, how to do a meditation and all about what goes into celebrating Vesak Day. They loved making origami lotus flowers, posters, prayer flags, Tibetan flatbread and singing songs.
They played to a packed house with all of Lower Primary School in attendance as well as their parents. Some of the stories were intriguing, others were funny, but most importantly all the children came away having learnt something about Vesak Day. They finished their performance with a lively song and after the assembly was done, the proud parents got to take pictures of the full troupe.

Our Year 7 students went on two amazing trips to Sibu Island, Malaysia, for their year group residential. Surrounded by the beauty of nature and immersed in a vibrant new culture, students had the chance to connect with their friends and make memories that will last forever.
