On 8th December 2017, Year 10 Mandarin IGCSE and Secondary EAL students visited the Haw Par Villa theme park to learn about the famous stories of Chinese literature such as the ‘Journey to the West’ and ‘White Snake Legend’.
This trip introduced us to the traditional Chinese values and stories told by Chinese people through their lives. This theme park has around 1,000 beautiful hand carved statues and 150 giant dioramas that dramatise Chinese legends and culture.
Here are some students’ reflections:
“It was really interesting to learn the Chinese culture & old stories.” Seorin

“I learned Chinese culture and it was very different to Japanese culture.” Misheel
