Yoga is a scientific system of physical and mental practices that originated in India more than three thousand years ago. The branch of Yoga that the yoga ECA is based on is Hatha Yoga, a system which begins by working with the body on a structural level, helping to align the vertebrae, increase flexibility, and strengthen muscles and connective tissue.

As well as their physiological benefits, the Yoga routines can help children (and adults!) develop greater concentration, balance, and composure in their daily lives. At the Inclusive Yoga ECA, children from across the pathways and mainstream primary school have been working hard on perfecting their poses and breathing exercises for six weeks now. We are starting to see some real improvements from all their hard work!
