Richard Mannoia, Director of Juilliard Global K–12 Curricula, visited DCIS to work on a cooperative learning and differentiation project with the Music Department.

During his two day visit to Dover Court International School, Richard Mannoia focused on cooperative learning and differentiation projects within the Pathways. Teachers of the  Pathway 3 classes experimented with different teaching strategies, by looking at ways of how music technology can be used as a tool to differentiated learning. This included touch-screen iPads to teach rhythmic notation and textural writing, as well as Graphic scores to represent the contour of sound and instrument layering. Our Pathway students were very excited to explore the various tools and programmes. Mr. Mannoia also led a much appreciated woodwind workshop with our talented school orchestra. As always with the Juilliard specilist visits, these were two very engaging days for both the teachers and students.
