Dover Court End of Term 2 2025-2026 Message from the Head of Primary

As we reach the end of Term 2, there is much to celebrate across the Primary School. It has been another busy and enriching term, with a wide range of learning experiences both in and beyond the classroom.

Writing this after recently returning from the Year 6 residential in Tioman, I have been reflecting on what a privilege it is to see our students beyond the classroom. It was heartwarming to see the determination and resilience they showed, alongside the camaraderie and kindness that defined their time together. These are experiences that will stay with them for many years to come.

Across the term, students from Early Years through to Year 6 have engaged in a wide range of opportunities. Our Sports Days for EYFS, Year 1 and Year 2 brought the community together in a celebration of participation and teamwork, while trips and visits (including the Science Centre, Wildlings, Duck Tours, the National Gallery and theatre performances) have enriched learning and brought curriculum experiences to life. Residential and overnight experiences, including the Year 3 camp (a giant sleepover in school!) and the aforementioned Year 6 residential, have further supported the development of independence, confidence and collaboration.

Students have also represented the school beyond Singapore, including at the FOBISIA Maths competition in Shanghai, where they demonstrated strong problem-solving skills, collaboration and resilience when working alongside peers from across the region.

Back in school, our Exhibitions of Learning have once again provided a valuable opportunity for students to share their understanding and take pride in their progress. It has been particularly pleasing to see the confidence with which students articulate their learning, reflecting the strength of teaching and our continued focus on high-quality learning.

Inclusion has remained a central thread throughout the term. From Neurodiversity Celebration Week and Safer Internet Day, to the ongoing work of our inclusion team and student leadership opportunities, we continue to promote understanding, empathy and respect across our community.

There have also been some great whole-school events, such as the Lunar New Year Temple Fair and Book Week, which have strengthened the sense of connection across the school. In addition, there have been many opportunities for students to represent the school and contribute beyond the classroom, from participation in wider NAE and FOBISIA competitions to events such as Year 5 Dover’s Got Talent and our class assemblies.

As we look ahead to Term 3, there is much to look forward to. The final term of the year provides an important opportunity to consolidate learning, celebrate achievements and support students through transition as they prepare for the next stage of their journey.

A big thank you, as always, goes to our wonderful team of teachers, teaching assistants and support staff who work so hard to ensure these positive experiences for our children come to life.

I would also like to thank you for your continued support. I wish you all a restful break and look forward to welcoming you back for the final term of the academic year.
