As we come to the end of Term 2, there is much to celebrate across the Secondary School. Congratulations to all students who received awards at the end-of-term assemblies this week!
This term has arguably been the most intense for our Year 11 and 13 students, as they and their teachers conclude final preparations for the external examinations in Term 3. With all internal assessments now complete for our IB students, Year 13s are ready to enter the exam hall and demonstrate their hard work and deep learning. We also extend warm congratulations to our BTEC students on the successful completion of their programmes.
I would like to recognise our teachers and the support team for their commitment and energy in supporting our examination students and their families. The entire Secondary team will continue supporting them through this important period, and we look forward to celebrating together at the Class of 2026 Graduation on 25 May at NTUC. Preparations are well underway, and with our largest graduating class to date (71 students), it will be another very special occasion. With the recent opening of the Sixth Form Centre and our IB Art Exhibition, our young people are in prime position to learn, collaborate, and socialise in a truly inspiring environment. Next term, we will be providing further updates on Sixth Form developments.
This term, students across year groups have participated in a wide array of curriculum trips that have enriched learning in Science, Music, Art, Languages and Humanities. Next term, residential trips for Years 8, 9, 10 and 12 will take place – several reimagined based on student and parent feedback – and this year we are excited to introduce new destinations in Thailand and Indonesia.
Our students have also demonstrated impressive dedication and competitive spirit. As mentioned by Mr Short, we celebrated strong performances in the UKMT challenges and continued success across ACSIS sports competitions. A particular highlight was the grit and teamwork shown by our Wolves team at the U13 FOBISIA tournament in Bangkok.
This term has also been full of events and opportunities for both students and parents, including workshops, online sessions, and several parent‑student‑teacher conferences. The standout event for students Years 10-13 was certainly the Spring Formal, a mastery of student agency.
Our thanks to all parents and staff who participated in the Careers Fair, which was a hive of activity and an invaluable experience for our students as they explore potential career routes and consider how best to realise their ambitions. There’s much to look forward to next term including our Year 6 into 7 transition experiences, Sports Awards and our annual and very unique Prizegiving. But now, it’s certainly time to enjoy a well‑deserved break as we recharge for Term 3.
On behalf of the Secondary Team, I wish you all a fantastic break.
