Term 2 may have been slightly shorter than Term 1, but it has certainly been just as busy and successful. Alongside our classroom learning, students have enjoyed a vibrant programme of activities, sports events and trips.
It was wonderful to see such enthusiastic participation across all age groups during our annual Book Week. Primary Sports Days were a fantastic celebration of athleticism and teamwork, and our various trips gave students valuable opportunities to explore new parts of the world. Many of our students also represented the school in external events, including presenting at the Singapore Airshow, competing in the Articulate speaking competition at the National Gallery, and taking part in the Model United Nations.
We have also held several productive parent forums this term. These sessions have helped us delve deeper into the feedback from our annual Parent Satisfaction Survey. I encourage you to watch the video we shared that summarises my reflections on both the survey results and the forum discussions.
Campus development continues to be a priority. Some of your children took part in our thorough tender process for the new Lower Primary playground, which will be installed over the summer – although my suggestion to name it the “Short Playground” has, unsurprisingly, not gained much support! In Secondary, we are tendering for additional shading over the decking installed during the Term 1 break, better supporting students during break times. The new covered areas at the front and side of the school have already made a significant positive impact.
We remain deeply grateful to the DCA for their continued support of our school community. Their beautiful decorations for Lunar New Year, Eid and Easter, as well as a wonderfully organised Parents’ Quiz Night, helped make this term extra special. Staff were particularly pleased with their honourable second‑place finish!
As we head into the holidays, I wish you all a restful break, and a Happy Easter to those celebrating. We look forward to an equally energetic Term 3, as our Year 11 and 13 students prepare for their external examinations—their chance to shine. We are excited to see them continue our tradition of world‑leading results.
