As we reach the end of another academic year, I find myself reflecting on what a privilege it is to be part of such a large, vibrant and truly wonderful community.
This year has been filled with opportunities for our children to learn, grow and thrive. I have watched students perform on stage, represent the school in sport and other competitions, lead initiatives through our CHAMP programme, share their learning through exhibitions, challenge themselves on residential trips, and demonstrate kindness, resilience, excellence, creativity and integrity in countless everyday moments. It is without a doubt that the children themselves truly make Dover Court a special place, to work, learn and contribute to.
Throughout the year, there have been many moments that have reminded me of the strength of our community. Whether watching Year 6 students support one another during their residential in Tioman, seeing the dedication and teamwork that brought Shrek the Musical to life, or watching families come together to celebrate their children’s achievements in our exhibitions of learning, or have fun with each other at our wonderful DCA events. I have been continually reminded of the relationships, care and sense of connection that sit at the heart of our school.
This year also provided an opportunity to celebrate many of the things that make Dover Court special. During our CIS reaccreditation visit, visitors recognised the strength of our culture, the quality of relationships across the school, and the genuine care shown for students and families. These acknowledgements reflect the collective efforts of an exceptional team of professionals who work tirelessly to support every child.
I would like to thank our teachers, teaching assistants, therapists, support staff and other teams for their dedication, expertise and care. The opportunities our children enjoy each day are only possible because of their commitment and professionalism.
I would also like to thank our parents and families. Whether through the DCA, parent workshops, focus groups, volunteering at events, or simply through the everyday partnership between home and school, your support helps create the strong and welcoming community that defines Dover Court.
To those families leaving us this year, thank you for being part of our story. We wish you every success and happiness in the future and hope you leave with many fond memories and lasting friendships.
Finally, thank you to our students. Your curiosity, humour, resilience and kindness continue to inspire us every day and remind us why we do this important work. I am confident that the future is safe in your hands.
I wish all of our families a restful and enjoyable holiday and look forward to welcoming many of you back in August for another exciting year ahead.
