Welcome to the 2026-27 Academic Year | A Message from Principal Richard Vaughan

Welcome to the start of the new academic year.

I am delighted to finally be writing to you all to welcome you to the new school year here at Dover Court International School (DCIS). Over the past couple of weeks, we have welcomed our new teachers to DCIS and have been supporting them in their transition to school life. We also welcomed over three hundred new students on our orientation day last week. It was a wonderful opportunity to meet many families, some new to Singapore, others moving schools within the city.

On Tuesday, 11th August, excitement was high as we welcomed the whole school back for the start of the new year. The vibe around campus was contagious throughout the day. Returning and new families alike were ready to start the next chapter of the learning journey.

On a personal note, my wife and I moved to Singapore at the end of July and are settling into life on the island. My most recent international posting was at BIS Hanoi in Vietnam, another great international school in the Nord Anglia Education family. We are both looking forward to exploring Singapore and being part of this wonderful school community.

Over the coming months, I have much to learn and discover about the great learning provision here at DCIS. I am already getting to know the teams; the systems and approaches being delivered across the whole school. I look forward to opportunities to meet more families at the various coffee mornings and welcome events planned over the coming weeks. Together, we will identify some of the key next steps needed in the Dover Court school journey.
