4C Class Teacher
Emma Knowles

Emma Knowles holds a BA (Hons) degree in History from Chester University and a PGCE in Primary Teaching from the University of Cumbria. She began her teaching career in Lancaster, close to where she grew up in the UK, before moving to Bangkok, where she gained valuable experience teaching in Asia and at an international school.

Throughout her teaching career, Emma has taught across both Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. She has developed a broad understanding of a variety of curricula, including the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) and the National Curriculum of England. She has played active roles in curriculum development teams, leading initiatives in English, Phonics and History.

Emma is a strong advocate for ‘hands-on’ learning and is dedicated to bringing lessons to life. Her teaching style is dynamic and engaging, with a focus on inspiring children to be thinkers and inquirers. She strives to ensure that every child develops a love for learning and is given the space to explore their own interests and passions with the support and encouragement of their teacher and learning environment. She believes in nurturing curiosity and making every child feel seen, heard and valued.

Her passion for reading extends beyond the classroom. Emma has supported teachers and students in Uganda and Hong Kong through charitable initiatives, helping to promote literacy and learning opportunities in under-resourced communities.

In her spare time, Emma enjoys playing netball, reading, walking her dog and spending time with friends. A keen traveller, she loves exploring different cultures and discovering new places around the world.
