Grade 3 Green hold picnic for grannies in need

On 8 May 2018, the Grade 3 Green class had the privilege of hosting a picnic for and in honor of the 14 grannies they had worked so hard to support.

Granny Supporters

The learners in Grade 3 were taking a great deal of action for their unit of inquiry centered around organizations and how they support local and international communities.

It was the students' initiative to create their own classroom organization named The Granny Supporters, which would collect donations from teachers and students within NISC’s primary school.

Granny Supporters

Thanks to everyone involved, students were able to collect ample clothes, food and hygiene items for their 14 grannies.

The granny picnic was a huge success. The Grade 3 students showed a great deal of compassion and respect towards the grannies, lending them an arm for balance, serving them food they had brought in, and helping them to pick out clothing from the donations rack.

Granny Supporters

May 8th was a day The Granny Supporters will always remember. They took action and saw first hand how great it can feel to support others in need.

If you are interested in continuing to support the 14 grannies, please bring in any clothing, food, or hygiene items to Ms. Natalie in EL2. A big thank you to everyone involved!
