On April 21st, students of Collège Champittet had the privilege of meeting Maître Marc Bonnant, former president of the Geneva Bar and famous orator. His visit was the opportunity for the school to hold a speech contest. The subject chosen was in relation with the events of January 2015 "should we limit freedom of expression?”. The jury consisted of Maître Bonnant, Philippe de Korodi, Director General, Father Charles Niqueux, Collège chaplain, Roland Lomenech, Academic Director, Daniel Zumbrunnen, Latin teacher, Steve Bobillier, Philosophy teacher and Gilles Page, French teacher. About ten senior students took part in the contest. Mr. Bonnant commented and advised each of the performances individually. In the end, Simon in 14th grade BF won the 1st prize.
In the evening, the guest of honour captivated his audience by a brilliant lecture on the use of language and the importance of public speaking, especially in politics or professions related to law but also in interpersonal relations.
