11th graders in Nantes – article written by the students

This year the 11th grade students visited Nantes and the Atlantic coast of France. Over four days we experienced lots of interesting and fun things, from walking barefoot in the ocean to discovering the cultural and historic sights of Nantes. This newsletter article tells the story of our voyage and was written by the students in 11D.

Nantes 2016

“After a short flight to Nantes we drove to our comfortable hotel next to the sea in the small town of Pornichet. The sun was bright, just about to set, and the sand was cold and moist - the perfect combination for a magnificent walk along the beach! It took us a little longer than planned to get to the restaurant because we took so many pictures to be remember that moment forever.

When we arrived at the restaurant we all took our places and waited. When the food came everyone dug in with a big smile on their faces because, we couldn’t deny it: the potato chips and the fish steak were delicious! Dessert was really good too. We then went back to the hotel after a great meal and fell soundly asleep for the next day.

On Monday we went to the oceanarium at Croisic and saw lots of different kinds of sea creatures: starfish, sharks and penguins. After some souvenir shopping we went to the famous salt marshes of Gironde to discover how salt is produced.

The next day we went to Nantes for the whole day. After a visit to the ‘Ile des Machines’, where we had the opportunity to ride big robots, we had some time for lunch and shopping with friends. The museum in the afternoon was very interesting and enjoyable. In the evening we all went to a very nice restaurant beside the Loire River called the ‘Canteen de Voyage’, where we ate chicken and there was a wonderful selection for dessert. The last night diner was really enjoyable.

On the whole, the trip to Nantes was amazing! We met new people, visited many places and learned something new. It was a really nice trip, a great experience and a good opportunity to get to know the new students in our class.”
