Teacher showcase: Gaëlle Mestdag

Gaëlle Mestdag is our Year 4 class teacher, with 16 years of teaching experience in grades 1 to 8. Of Belgian origin, Gaëlle spent the first 3 years of her career teaching in her home country, before joining our school where she has taught for over 12 years. She is particularly interested in ‘school coaching’ and attended a one year training course in Belgium, which heightened her awareness of difficulties such as anxieties, stress and lack of motivation. Gaëlle loves working in our primary section as there is an atmosphere of care and solidarity, where all are valued and listened to. In her free time Gaëlle enjoys going out with her friends, and is also a keen traveler! One of her favourite quotes is “Without a teacher, life would have no class!” – Unknown author.
