Humanitarian trip to Thailand - by Nastasia 13th Grade

I decided to sign up for the humanitarian trip to Thailand right at the beginning of the school year. The 13th of April 2017, my class and I left Switzerland for Bangkok, then travelling to Chiang Rai in the Northern part of Thailand. This experience was very valuable for each student who took part in the trip, including me. It showed me a different side of the world we live in, while opening my mind to how others live around us. The humanitarian work we did was mostly focused on building a school for the local villagers. The work was difficult, but the result was very satisfying. The fact that we could help local people was somehow very rewarding both mentally and physically. Looking back on this experience, I have learned to appreciate everything that I have as some people live with nothing, but are still very happy and satisfied with their lives. It was an unforgettable experience, and I would recommend any other student interested in this type of trips to go ahead with this opportunity as it will bring a lot of good into their lives!
