Our students from years 11 to the 13 met Metin Arditi on Tuesday, November 6th to discuss his book "My father on my shoulders" published in 2017.
Metin Arditi devotes this novel to a father whom he finally knew so little, he who was "removed" from the family, to be sent to a boarding school in Switzerland in Paudex at the age of seven.
Made of memories and anecdotes in a setting that we know so well on the edges of Lake Geneva with walks in Ouchy, sometimes unanswered questions and attempts to understand a father that must finally be accepted as he is, this book is a declaration of love from a son to his father who is now gone. To the one who taught him so much without ever teaching him anything. A lot of emotion for this boy looking almost desperately for proof of paternal love, finding himself in front of a wall but loving him for what he is.
An emotional meeting with a lively debate that generated many interactions on both sides.
