This Thursday saw Léman International School hosting its third graduation ceremony. Nine graduates representing six different countries received their diplomas from Mr Pass, the Secondary Principal and Mr Mindorff, our Headmaster.

The class of 2018 wrote over 50 IB exams during the past three weeks and submitted course work including their 4000 word original research papers for those pursuing the full IB diploma. Seven of our students were full IB Diploma candidates and two of them were IB Diploma course candidates. In addition, our graduates completed their Creativity, Action and Service components whilst continuing to remain engaged in school events and sports.

This year's graduating class spoke to the audience and to their peers sharing their reflections on their journey through high school and giving wise advice to the upcoming graduates. The ceremony ended with a tradition that began under our previous Headmaster, Mr Larson, where our Pre-K students gave each graduate a balloon symbolising the joys of learning and a reminder to play even when you are an adult.

Our graduating students are as varied in their destinations after leaving Léman as their countries of origin:

  • Danyal will attend The Millennium University College in Islamabad, Pakistan where he plans to pursue a Bachelor in Law course.

  • Achille will take a gap year studying Spanish in the south of Spain before embarking on the next stage of his journey.

  • Joey is going to attend the University of Toronto in Canada, where she plans to pursue Biology.

  • Tiger has been accepted at Warwick, St. Andrews and Durham Universities in the UK and has yet to decide on his final destination.

  • Bruce will study Art and Design at the California College of the Arts in Oakland, California.

  • Jan has been accepted at SCAD in Hong Kong but is aiming to study at RMIT in Australia.

  • Camille will attend the University of British Columbia in Canada.

  • Mike is looking forward to studying at the University of California in Santa Barbara.

  • Benjamin will be studying Criminology on home turf when he begins his studies at the University of Toronto in Canada.

The event was then followed by a buffet to celebrate their achievements in the foyer of the main building.

We would like to wish our Graduates the very best of luck in whatever they do and wherever they are going in the next stage of their lives.

Good luck, we will all miss you.
