In Parents meeting – with Chinese Language Teachers, it has been wonderful this week to meet so many parents from Nursery to Secondary. Chinese teachers received a lot of great feedback from parents. Parents expressed their thanks for the great effort Chinese teachers have put in their children’s Chinese learning. They often heard their children chanting the Chinese poems and singing the Chinese songs and Children like to spend more time in Chinese reading and writing. Parents felt satisfied with the progress their children made and the ways that Chinese are taught through songs, games and stories for new to the language students and the wordlist, diary, reading and situational tasks for those more advanced students.

It is valuable at this special moment to have a face to face chance for all teachers to meet with parents. We communicated with the parents directly about the students’ strength and the aspects that need to improve. We also patiently gave the specific suggestions about how parents can support their children’s Chinese learning at home. Links of useful video and songs and the Chinese learning Apps are recommended for non-native parents and book names or articles of practicing Chinese characters and diary, essays are offered to native parents.
