At Nord Anglia School Jakarta, we believe a great education is one that balances academic outcomes, character development and student wellbeing, both in the classroom and learning virtually. In order to create an optimal learning environment, it is essential that children are happy, healthy and safe. We are firmly committed to creating a space that fosters students’ social, emotional and physical wellbeing so they can achieve their full potential.
By establishing a strong partnership between parents, teachers and students, our students can also develop skills and dispositions to take responsibility for their own wellbeing to truly flourish.
Healthy Eating
Productive young bodies and minds require appropriate fuel, and healthy habits are formed from a young age. Our teaching staff encourage nutritious eating within the classroom and work closely with families to support on this.
Staying Active
Staying active and taking part in physical activity is an important part of every child's development, on campus and learning virtually. Physical Education (PE) classes are held daily in the Early Years and twice a week in Primary School. On campus, we are equipped with extensive sports facilities including football and basketball fields along with a large gymnasium. IPC has a strong emphasis on outdoor play to facilitate learning, with an indoor/outdoor philosophy making full use of our large green areas.
Wellbeing
As part of our commitment to child-centred education, we implement several holistic initiatives to nurture and encourage the further development of our students, both on campus and online. Our teachers use a variety of methods including morning exercise, yoga and breathing exercises to keep children focused and in tune with their own individual needs so they can achieve their best results.
Safety and security
We take safety seriously and have developed various programmes to ensure the health and safety of your child:
-
All teachers and support staff must undergo and comply with Nord Anglia's strict Health and Safety and Child Protection requirements prior to work. The health and safety of students is a primary concern and is managed in partnership with experts in this field.
-
The Nord Anglia School Jakarta is protected by a 24-hour security system and a team of security personnel. Access to our secure facility is only permitted for families and NAS Jakarta staff through steel boom gates and all vehicles are subject to security checks carried out by trained guards. Access to campus is controlled by check-in and the use of an identification badge is required for each visitor.
-
Our school also has comprehensive procedures to address any potential situation including fire, earthquake and lockdown. Faculty and students regularly practise these emergency response exercises throughout the year.
