Last week, the secondary student leadership team focused their aim on improving punctuality and attendance by delivering an informative, research-based presentation to the secondary students during the mid-week assembly.
With attendance and punctuality (a&p) being a regular topic of conversation, the secondary leaders devised their own ‘gamified’ initiative to reward and penalise students based on their own a&p. Having conducted research into the main reasons for poor a&p at BSY, the distraction of gaming was often provided as a reason for students missing lessons. The secondary leadership team hopes to harness this passion for gaming as a tool to motivate our student body to better manage its time. The a&p initiative is due to begin in term 3. Please support our student leadership team by encouraging your child to do their best to be on time.
It is incredibly rewarding seeing our student leaders take ownership of school initiatives and I could not be more proud of the work they have completed so far.
