Michelle was born and bred in Birmingham in the UK and initially graduated as a Secondary French and German teacher before developing a passion to teach Early Years. In 2004 Michelle completed a conversion course from Secondary to Primary teaching, and has since worked as an Early Years teacher in the UK and then overseas in international schools in Malaysia and the UAE.
In addition to being a classroom teacher, Michelle has middle leadership experience, leading a large EYFS department for three years in Malaysia and coordinating Nursery and Early Years whilst in Abu Dhabi. After 16 years of teaching, Michelle is truly committed to giving children the best possible start to their education, enabling them to become happy, confident and independent learners. She believes that a secure, safe and happy childhood is important in its own right. Her practice is firmly rooted in experiential learning and learning through play. As a dedicated and busy mummy, Michelle likes to spend time sharing her interests such as cooking and swimming with her husband and 2-year-old daughter.
