Senior Invitational Games Football Champions

06 March 2014

Many congratulations to the senior boys football team, who became Senior Invitational Games 2014 champions which was hosted here at Regents International School Pattaya in early February.

The team played for a staggering two and a half hours without conceding a single goal. They eased through the early rounds with wins of 2-0, 5-0 and 4-0, with three goals for defender Tom W, and a goal apiece for midfielder Manoj and centre forward Tom D. Then came a hard fought 1-0 win over a skillful St. Andrews, Bangkok team in the semi-final, with a beautifully taken strike from
distance by Manoj. The final saw them lining up against a very big and aggressive side from BIS Phuket, who posed a very different challenge to the previous games. The boys managed to stay calm and composed, despite some very physical play from their opponents, and eventually squeezed through 1-0 after another lovely finish from Tom W. It was a wonderful team effort and the boys are very worthy champions.
