Katerina, one of the school’s International Baccalaureate graduates for 2014, joined Regents as an 11 year old student and decided to stay on as a boarder when her parents returned to Russia in 2012. "When I arrived I struggled because I spoke no English but by the end of my first year here my English was very good and from that point onwards my academic grades just got better and better." Katerina intends to, "Travel the world and speak five languages" and find a job she really enjoys. She will begin her journey by attending university in New Zealand or the UK.
Our dedicated boarding team is especially proud of the harmony which students achieve between academic study, extra-curricular activities and relaxation time.
Steve Rand, Head of Boarding at Regents International School Pattaya, comments:
"Not only will we be welcoming our boarders in newly renovated boarding houses next academic year (which are looking absolutely fantastic, by the way) but we’ll also be starting an exciting new programme of weekend events, activities and clubs. Every weekend we will be offering action-packed trips and even some long weekend adventures to Ko Samet, Kanchanaburi and Khao Yai. Our late afternoon and weekend teacher support for boarders gives even more value to a boarding place at Regents. Add to this two new staff bringing a wealth of experience and enthusiasm to our community and it’s going to be a brilliant year in boarding!"
