Primary Sport Takes Centre Stage

10 February 2015

Primary sports days this year were a huge success for all our Early Years, Key Stage 1, Lower Key Stage 2 and Upper Key Stage 2 students, staff and parents.

The atmosphere each day was electrifying with the thrill of competition in the air.  They were organised with pristine precision by Dave Collins, our Primary Physical Education (PE) coordinator, and ran to time with the help of the PE staff, gap staff and volunteer parents.  Dave has been instrumental in ensuring maximum participation from all our students and the variety of events on offer tested skill, ability and speed.

All our students were keen to perform to their very best in each event in order to be rewarded with one of our new sports day medals. That definately brought the biggest smile on the podium from all who received one.  Valuable house points were also on offer and the winning House (Yellow) received the inaugural 'Sports Day Shield' that will ensure our Primary Sports days will continue to be one of the most important dates in our school calendar each year.

PE in Early Years and Primary continue to thrive due to the increased curriculum time for our Eearly Years students and new activities on offer for our Primary students e.g. outdoor and adventure challenges. Dave Collins has been the driving force behind these changes and he will continue to ensure the provision for all our students at Regents offers enjoyment, challenge and the opportunities to succeed to love sport for life.
