Regents International School Pattaya is proud to announce a remarkable achievement by our student-led social impact initiativeProject Shine, led by our Head Student Yuni in Year 12 and her team Fransesca, Tonhom, Gethin, Minha, Egor, SiEun, Korn, Simon and Ploy from Year 11, guided by Ms. Iena Dua and Ms. Jodi Barber. The team has successfully secured a Nord Anglia Educaiton Social Impact Grant of USD 50,000 to support their work towards the Sustainable Development Goals by helping the Anti Human Trafficking and Child Abuse Center (ATCC) in Pattaya, a milestone that will make a lasting difference in the lives of vulnerable children.

Why this matters

The ATCC plays a critical role in taking care of and rehabilitating children affected by human trafficking and abuse. Located near Pattaya, the center provides shelter, counselling, education, and legal support for children who have endured unimaginable hardships. Their mission is to restore dignity and offer hope for a brighter future.

With this grant, Regents’ social impact team together with the ATCC will upgrade the NGO’s electricity systems by installing solar panels on the roof of the building to lower the cost of electricity, creating a longlasting impact on their financials and more comfortable and safe environment for the children in its care.

A message from our Social Impact team

Ms. Iena Dua, Social Impact Team Lead and Spanish Teacher at Regents International School Pattaya said “This grant reflects the power of student action. By improving ATCC’s infrastructure, we’re helping create a secure and nurturing space for children who need it most.”

Ms. Jodi Barber, Social Impact Team Lead and Humanities Teacher continued “Our students have shown that compassion and determination can drive real change. We’re honored to support ATCC in its mission to protect and empower vulnerable children.”

About ATCC

The Anti Human Trafficking and Child Abuse Center works closely with law enforcement and social services to rescue children from trafficking networks and abusive environments. Beyond immediate safety, ATCC provides education, therapy, and reintegration programs; helping children rebuild their lives with confidence and care.

What’s next?

This achievement is just the beginning. We’ll share updates on how the funds are being used and the positive impact on ATCC’s facilities and the children they serve.
