Global Orchestra Nominees Chosen –
Five Regents’ nominees are in with a shot to be a part of Nord Anglia Education’s (NAE) Global Orchestra – where three students from each of the 35 NAE schools will travel to New York. The lucky students will visit The Juilliard School – which is one of the world’s most-famous music conservatories for young people.
This is just one way in which NAE and Juilliard are building a relationship. Recently Head of Secondary, Ms. Emily Andrews was part of contingent of teachers send to New York do help develop a brand-new curriculum for NAE schools. Exciting times ahead for Regents!
Design Technology Visit to Ford in Rayong –
As part of an ongoing commitment to showing our students what kind of careers are possible after school, pupils experienced a whole range of exciting technologies being applied to the manufacture and assembly of the modern motor vehicle, at the Ford manufacturing plant in Rayong.
The Assembly Line was the pinnacle of the tour, seeing all 7,000 parts/assemblies transported from all over the factory to efficiently combine to make a customer’s car, just in time and ready for a rigorous inspection, to protect it on its domestic or international journey across Asia.
Primary Literacy Week –
Over the course of the last week at Regents International School Pattaya students in Early Years and Primary students have been engaged in a series of workshops, drama experiences and visits from children’s’ author ‘Kamon’.
Even Early Years and Key Stage One Literacy Co-ordinator Mrs. Alison Lyford was excited by the experience.
“Having the opportunity to chat with Kamon and buy a signed book was the icing on the cake! Opportunities like this, along with the expert workshops that the children have participated in, really bring Literacy week to life and make it a memorable and stimulating experience for all involved.”
LAMDA Visit –
Regents International School Pattaya have been lucky to have external examiners from the prestigious London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA) visit our campus this last month.
65 of our best performing arts students are taking various exams - ranging from speech to drama. Most of the students taking the tests are in the secondary school, but remarkably the youngest is in Year 5.
LAMDA is an internationally acclaimed academy that has a reputation for excellence wherever they go. It complements the IGCSE and International Baccalaureate (IB) courses well and is recognized by the Undergraduate Courses at University (UCAS) organisation.
