Gratitude, Praise and Recognition

Regents International School Pattaya's Principal Sarah Osborne-James thanks the parent community for their tremendous support on Teacher Appreciation Day.

Regents International School Pattaya is proud to have over 100 diverse educators on staff and on Tuesday 16 January 'International Teachers Day' was celebrated in style. Our Parent Supporters Group (PSG) very kindly organised a very ambitious international buffet style lunch, in three different staff rooms! The food was donated by parents across the school and represented the many different nationalities across the community. Every teacher had a huge smile on their face as they entered their staff room and I heard various comments including; Wow, I wasn’t expecting this, amazing, incredible, this is just out of this world, unbelievable, this is the best Teachers Day I have experienced here! The quality, range and quantity of the food in the buffet was similar to a 5 star Hotel – Thank you to the PSG for making this happen and for all of our parents for contributing. It really was a very kind thing to do and made all of our teachers happy and feel valued!

Our children in Primary gave out roses to their teachers and our Head Boy and Head Girl wrote and shared their own speech and words of thanks and gratitude. The Secondary INSET meeting after school was devoted to reflecting on what it means to be an inspirational educator and how we can continue to make a difference to the lives of the children in our care. Teachers Day was the perfect context for us to reflect on our practice and remember “A teacher affects eternity; he can never tell where his influence stops.” – Henry Adams.

There was a real buzz and positive atmosphere around school this week, a huge thank you to our teachers for their energy, passion and drive and thank you to our parents and students for the gratitude, praise and recognition.
