This week began with us welcoming lots of new students to the Tigers and learning more about each other as our friendships continued to blossom.
We then started our theme for this week "Animals Around the World: Animal Adventures!" and were challenged with a game of animal bingo with a difference: recognising the noises the animals made and listening to descriptions of these animals. Other English activities this week have included: animal poems, information texts and posters.
In Maths, we've been learning to represent data and information in different ways with tally charts, block diagrams and venn diagrams. We've then learnt how to ask and answer questions including what is the most popular, what is the least popular and how many more people chose ... rather than ....
As well as our maths and English activities, we've been incredibly inventive and taken advantage of the excellent STEAM facilities here at Regents. Across our classes we have designed and made: 3D animals out of junk modelling and playdough; mini elephant sanctuary models and animations. Teamwork has also been another strong theme for us with games in the classroom, shared projects and even an energetic game of dodgeball!
On Thursday, Tigers were incredibly lucky to be taken to our Year 4 Community Partner: The Elephant Sanctuary in Pattaya. For many of us, this was our first opportunity to get up close and personal with the three beautiful elephants that have been rescued and to see them in their natural habitat. We learnt all about their past and how we can continue to look after them, whilst also feeding them, going for a walk with them and watching them bathe.
We're very excited to welcome even more Tigers next week as we take a trip to the seaside!
