Tamano has acheived an IB score of 44 out of a possible 45, this puts her in the top 2% of IB scorers in the world!
Tamano has earned a scholarship worth 100,000 CAD to the prestigious University of British Columbia (UBC) to study Bachelor of Arts and would like to major in International Relations.
Tamano said waiting to find out her IB results, "was the longest, scariest and most exciting 15 minutes of my life! When I saw the number 44 at the end of the result page, I felt that all the hard work was worth it!"
About the IB Diploma Programme, Tamano said "My friends, teachers and parents congratulated me every time I succeeded in a test or in class and this motivated me to work harder and harder. Seeing my friends working in the IB Suite working hard inspired me a lot as well."
Tamano said the IB Diploma helped her how to learn efficiently rather than just working without a plan. Some advice Tamano would give to those planning to start the IB Programme is:
"Don’t hesitate to ask for help. Your teachers are supportive and they are the most experienced people you can reach out to. I made appointments to talk to teachers and asked lots of questions."
Tamano also said:
"I want to thank all the teachers for helping me reach where I am today, especially Ms.Ana Rosales (Regents University Guidance Counsellor) for introducing me to many different Universities. With her help, I was able to find the best place for me to spend the next four years!"
