We take the world around us for granted, cutting down trees and building factories destroying the beauty and simplicity of the earth. I decided that now is the chance for me to show people that life is not only based in social media, online, in cyberspace, and that there is so much more than just swiping past a picture on a screen.
I have been influenced by artists such as Pratuang Emjaroen, Jackson Pollock and Jessica
Rimondi. Through my art I want people to remember how beautiful the earth is and maybe even influence them to help save the world. The world we know is slowly fading away. Deep down we all know it is true but we don’t do anything to stop it. People just think that if we stop worrying or stop thinking about it, it will eventually go away That is never going to solve all the problems we have in the world. We hate to think about it, but it is as real as you and me.
Another artist that influenced me is Adele Earnshaw. She focuses on animals and landscape which also inspired even more to do final pieces based on nature and although her artworks are simple, they are bold and straight forward. Earnshaw’s background are usually kept simple with just a simple colour and nothing more, and you can see in some of my final pieces that I have taken that in to account and used her idea in some of my work.
My pieces are also named after the stars and the horoscope because I can’t draw stars since I
can’t get primary pictures/images of the stars. The horoscope is also based on people and their
beliefs. Pratuang Emjaroen was inspired by Thai people and their religion and beliefs so inspired by Emjaroen I decided to do the same.
“Whenever I go to learn from the earth, it teaches about sacrifice and shows me the virtues of its devotion for all living things like plants, animals and humans. Heavy mountains can be supported by the landmass. I can see clearly that wounded land is full of sacrifice. Land can be soft or hard depending on its use. The land also can be tiny particles or durable large crystals. Every form and size of the crust to the center of earth contain true teaching which is complete beauty and power in everything.” - Pratuang Emjaroen
The vivid colours produced by nature are so powerful. I like to focus on the colours and the detail of the image that I am painting. Many of my piece will be different perspectives and views of the same object. That is one way that I can go in depth and explore with beauty within. I want to focus on the vibrant colours and shapes of nature so that it attracts the eyes of the audience and make them appreciate what they have. My main intention is to remind the audience of the the amazing beauty they may have forgotten.
