Gemma is a passionate and motivated primary school teacher with over 14 years of experience, teaching in a wide range of school settings around the world. She gained a BA ITT Teacher training degree with a specialism in English and Special Educational Needs at St. Mary's University College in Twickenham, London.
After graduating, Gemma taught in a public school in London for a few years. During this time, she decided that she wanted to combine her love for teaching and travelling, so she packed her bags and headed to Asia. Gemma worked in Shenzhen, China and Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam as a primary teacher and English Coordinator, where she was given the opportunity to design, set up and incorporate the schools English curriculum. During these experiences, Gemma gained qualifications in counselling and emotional support and helped to set up and establish pastoral care throughout the schools.
After a few years, Gemma moved to Bangkok, Thailand, to work as a PYP IB teacher with a focus being on inquiry based learning. She was promoted to the schools counsellor and Designated Safeguarding Lead. Outside of school, Gemma enjoys spending time with her family, finding new places to explore and new cultures to discover.
