A week of books and literary focus centred around World Book Day on Thursday 6th March.
All week in-class activities and learning will have a book focus:
DEAR – Drop Everything And READ!
The children will be encouraged in class to pick up their favourite book and read at allocated time slots throughout the day. The timings will be kept secret from the children…but they’ll know to wait for the signal! Are you ready? Get steady! READ!
Students in Reception through to Year 9 will have the chance to book swap with another class, students please bring in any unwanted books that your parents have agreed to can trade.
Every lunchtime a different teacher or member of school staff will be reading from a book they love! Watch out for the notices about who is reading, where and be there in time to listen in.
In The Learning Centre
Our Librarian team have been asking everyone to nominate their favourite books – look out for the results posted around school. We’ll also post some recommended reading on Facebook, Twitter and the Weblog so have a look and see how many you have read!
Book Fair - Wednesday 5th to Friday 7th March
Open to everyone to come and browse a wide selection of books from Blue Fountain Inc.
Children are welcome to bring their pocket money, your child’s teacher will let you know the days they will attend as a class, the fair will also be open everyday as well as at breaks and lunchtime (outside the Hive in Building B).
