With contributions from students in years 7, 8, 9, 10 and 12, the showcase included an art and design gallery, as well as music and drama performances. It provided a wonderful opportunity for parents to see the impressive portfolios and work students have undertaken during the year.
In the art gallery, students proudly showed their art work, ranging from painting, artist books and 3D art, and confidently explained their work throughout the year, including the artistic genres and key artists work they have studied, as well as their own artistic process.
Our D&T students contributed their imaginative creations, ranging from colourful LED lamps ingeniously desinged speakers, highlighting their understanding of design techniques and use of cutting-edge design tools to make their ideas come to life.
On stage, parents and students were treated to a middle school glockenspiel ensemble, group and solo performances on piano and violin, a voice solo and an impressive “electronica” presentation from students who used the latest recording technology to compose a video soundtrack.
Drama students completed the bill with a hilarious performance of a scene from Ernie’s Incredible Illucinations, and an imaginative and very intense improvisation of Mission Impossible.
Parents also had the opportunity to go into the Drama and Music Mac studios to see first-hand how students create their work
Congratulations to all the performers, artists and designers who helped to make the night a great success.
