In arts and crafts, we have made Minions from paper tubes, which have turned out to be very cute indeed. Also, we have crafted some amazing sculptures using playdough, craft sticks, string and card. Plus we have been creating 3-D drawings using our hands and a range of different shapes. And we have been folding origami paper planes, which we have flown successfully outside. Some classes have been creating zany and mind-blowing designs using the ink from coloured crepe paper – very imaginative indeed.
What has been joyous to observe is the way our students have taken to playing board games – special English-speaking board games that encourage vocabulary development. In an age where most kids play computer games alone, it has been great to see our students interacting so fully with each other – throwing dice and using their English skills to make each other laugh.
Of course, our music production of Snow White is coming along really well. The corridors are ringing with the sound of the children spontaneously singing and practicing their Snow White songs. Plus, our daily music lessons allow them to sing to their hearts out and it continues to be something rather lovely to hear. Our show next week is bound to be a great success.
Thanks to all the parents for their great support and continued messages of thanks and encouragement. Just one more week to go!
