Kerem undertook his BA Hons degree in Primary Education at Bishop Grosseteste University where he achieved a First-Class Honours award and was presented with the Chancellor and University Council award for academic excellence. During this time, he developed a wide understanding of teaching philosophies, pedagogies and educational research while experiencing a varied range of educational settings including small village schools; large, inner-city, multicultural settings; and even an opportunity to undertake a teaching opportunity in the care home system of the Transylvania region of Romania.
After completing his degree, Kerem moved back to his home county of Norfolk in England to begin his career as a teacher. He continued to undertake further professional development and responsibilities which enabled him to successfully create and develop an effective and practical profile of Science as part of his subject co-ordinator role. He has relished the opportunity to extend his training, skillset and leadership further on his professional journey at NAIS Pudong by taking on the role of STEAM lead for the school. Kerem is the creative mastermind behind our Maker Space where students are encouraged to unleash their creativity, be risk takers and innovators.
