Year 2 Art Exhibition: Seas and Oceans

12 December 2013

Year 2 were extremely excited and a little bit nervous on Monday as the day had arrived for their long awaited Seas and Oceans Exhibition.

Pictured above: Some of the artwork that was on display in the Year 2 Art Exhibition.

This all started back in November when Year 2 went on their visit to the Shanghai Aquarium. The children were inspired by the different sea creatures and used their experiences to create many different masterpieces.  Some were a dab hand at sewing, others enjoyed using oil pastels to create serene pictures of Koi carp, whilst others loved the effects of watercolours and wax crayons!  2I persevered with some very tricky 3D fish and 2X mastered the art of templates and clay. Fun was definitely had by all!

The parents poured in and waited for the different classes to come down and share in the excitement of their learning.  We certainly know we had as much fun looking at all the art as we did in making it in the first place.

So many people left us wonderful messages about our artwork:

“This is fantastic! I loved seeing all the different art works and styles. I especially loved the blue and black koi fish. The sewing is also excellent and the paintings really colourful.”

“Simply outstanding!”

“I really like your fish Jack, it sparkles!”

Thank you to everyone who came along and supported us! We are so proud of ourselves and on reflection, we can’t wait to do it again!
