At registration we checked our projects and then went down to the theatre where we were presenting to our parents – there were a lot of them there!
We had our class photos taken and then sang some WWII themed songs.
We then went up to our corridor and re-checked our projects before our parents came up to see our work.
6B worked on Rationing, 6I worked on Why War, 6S did Modern Wars and how it can affect us in the future, 6P worked on the Holocaust and Adolf Hitler and 6U focused on The Blitz and Blackout.
The parents were impressed at the wide range of learning that was covered and the different styles in which it was presented and we were really happy to be able to share it with them.
Here are some quotes about our WWII day from some of our students from Year 6:
“It was excellent, songs were great and I liked the parade” Julietta
“I liked the movie and enjoyed showing my video to parents” Aydin
“It looked like a real WW2 day, the activities were awesome and students were very independent” Munique
“I liked the way everything was organised and presented to make it look like a real WW2 day” Natarsha
“It was all about the Holocaust and I thought it was unfair to kill Jewish people for no reason” Joseph
