Season's Greetings from our Head of Primary

13 December 2013

As the first term of the year comes to an end, our Head of Primary Niki Meehan, wraps up the term's successes.

Dear Parents,

As Term 1 finishes, it is hard for me to imagine that I joined BISS Puxi only 4 months ago. Already I feel very much part of this thriving school community and quite at home in Shanghai. It has been an incredibly busy and challenging term but it has been a great pleasure to work with such a highly professional staff team and such amazing young learners. Together we have worked hard to ensure that all the children have had a positive school term; we have seen each child grow and blossom socially, academically and physically.

The range of activities and learning opportunities throughout this first term has been extensive and diverse, and certainly kept the children challenged and exciting by their school experiences. I must extend my thanks to all the staff for their professionalism but also to the parents for the great support given to us at school- your engagement is much appreciated. The children also need to be acknowledged for their relentless enthusiasm, commitment and for keeping us all stimulated with their energy and creativity!

It has been a really hardworking term for everyone and so it has been wonderful to end the session with lots of seasonal fun and cheer; assemblies, parties, project showcases, pantomimes and Christmas shows. We know that children and teachers (and probably parents too) are now ready for a little rest away from the routines of school and we hope you all have a wonderful winter break, whatever your family has planned.

Children never stop learning so do use your holiday settings to encourage valuable talking, thinking and social skills with family and friends.  But most importantly have a wonderful festive season and best wishes to you all for a happy and healthy 2014!

Season’s Greetings

Niki Meehan, Head of Primary
