Year 2 Learn All About Urban Planning

20 October 2014

Last Thursday, as part of their building unit in Themed Learning, Year Two went on an educational visit to the Urban Planning Exhibition Centre. Find out all about their day from Year 2 Leader, Phoebe Davies.

  • Year 2 students from the British International School Puxi visit the Urban Planning Exhibition Centre

During the day the children learnt about the history of buildings as well as famous areas in Shanghai. They were able to look at models of Shanghai and identify iconic buildings and the influence these have had over the city.

Currently in class, the children are learning about the Architect Hudec and the buildings he designed in Shanghai. On the trip the children were able to identify and study one of his buildings. The day was also a stimulus for their Literacy topic at the moment which is dairy writing; the children will all be writing a diary entry about the trip.

The children all came back exhausted but buzzing! They all thoroughly enjoyed themselves and had a great time. The Year Two Team would like to say a big thank you to the parent volunteers who came and helped!
