13 Minutes to Midnight – Our Halloween Film Fest

21 October 2014

Students from Year 10 upwards, staff and parents are warmly invited to our Halloween Film Festival next Wednesday 29 October. Head of Media Rus Ekkel tells us what to expect.

  • IB students at the British International School Shanghai, Puxi present their Halloween Horror Film Festival

This is the second year that we have hosted the Halloween Film Festival and I’m looking forward to another evening of screams and shrieks!

Each of our 13 IB Film students in Year 13 has made their own short horror film as part of our anthology film called '13 Minutes to Midnight', which will be screened in the secondary auditorium after school next Wednesday from 3:40pm until 4:30pm. Luckily for you all it’s not on a Friday the 13th!

The students have been hard at work crafting their individual short horror films. They were tasked with making each of their 13 films of a different horror subgenre and had to include a shot of a clock reading 13 Minutes to Midnight!

While we haven't planned anything too horrific, there is some scary content so only students in Year 10 and above are permitted to attend the screening...

Last year's event was great fun so we hope to see you there for a pre-Halloween afternoon of chills and terror - remember to cover your eyes if things get too terrifying!

- Rus Ekkel, Head of Film and Media
