BISS Puxi Hosts the U15 FOBISIA Games

31 October 2014

In the second week of November we will be hosting the U15 FOBISIA (Federation of British International Schools in Asia) Games. Director of Sport, Tom Hitchings, is running this prestigious event and tells us more about it.

Our students at the FOBISIA U15 Games last year in Vietnam

We are very excited to be hosting these games for the first time this year. There will be around 180 students in Years 9 and 10 from four schools competing in swimming, athletics, basketball and football across the three day event.

The visiting schools are Discovery Bay International School from Hong Kong, British School Manila from the Philippines, Seoul Foreign British School from Korea and Harrow Bangkok from Thailand. There will be 76 students from BISS Puxi involved in the competition across our A and B teams.

The three day event runs from Sunday 9 November to Tuesday 11 November. On Sunday there will be swimming in the morning and athletics in the afternoon. Monday will see the girls competing in football and boys in basketball and on Tuesday this will be reversed, with the boys playing football and the girls basketball. All events will run between 8am – 4:30pm and we encourage parents to come and cheer on the home side.

There will be webpages launching on our website next week with more detailed information.

These games will be conducted in the spirit of competition, sportsmanship, friendship and fun that embodies the FOBISIA movement and we are very much looking forward to welcoming everyone to BISS Puxi.
