A Full House for Our Winter Concert

02 December 2014

We have heard them practicing for weeks, and now it is nearly time for the Winter Concert, which takes place this Friday 5 December and is already sold out!

  • BISS Puxi Winter Concert

The Music department has had a very busy term, performing at a variety of events. A highlight for us all was ‘10 Hours of Music’ to celebrate our school’s 10th Anniversary. This was literally 10 hours of nonstop music in which over 500 students and staff took part. From 7am to 5pm the school was filled with a variety of performances, from maraca shaking in Reception to a stunning repertoire from our IB students. Many of these students are also performing in the Winter Concert this week.

Friday’s concert features selected performance from our lunchtime and ECA clubs which are run by our classroom music teachers. All clubs are free and the majority are open to all students who would like to join.

The concert will feature performances from the Key Stage 1, Key Stage 2, Key Stage 3 and Year 7 Choirs, the Senior and Junior Jazz Bands, Junior and Senior Strings, Recorder Ensemble and Steel Pans. There will be plenty of opportunities to sing along to some Christmas Carols and you’ll receive a programme with the lyrics, so no excuses not to join in!

There is lots more coming up for the Music department. Next term there are further ABRSM exams, Soloists’ Recitals and a Battle of the Bands to look forward to and the Christmas Fair and the Pantomime are still to come at the end of this term.

As the concert is sold out, please ensure you bring your ticket along with you.

We look forward to seeing you on Friday for a great evening of music!
