Class 1I Take Centre Stage

08 December 2014

Last week Class 1I were very excited to retell the story of The Enormous Crocodile to an audience of children and adults during the weekly Key Stage One assembly. Each week the classes take it in turns to put on an assembly to showcase some of the different things they’ve been learning in class. Head of Year 1, Dean Clayden, tells us about 1I’s assembly.

  • Class 1I at BISS Puxi put on an assembly about Roald Dahl's Book 'The Enormous Crocodile'
  • Class 1I at BISS Puxi put on an assembly about Roald Dahl's Book 'The Enormous Crocodile'

In class we have been reading Roald Dahl’s The Enormous Crocodile, about a nasty crocodile who wants to eat little children! The class decided that they wanted their assembly to be about this book. They worked hard to practice their lines and they used clear, expressive voices to retell the story in an exciting and engaging way. At first the children were a little nervous, however after a successful performance it was clear to see they were glowing with confidence!

The children finished off the dramatic story with a song about crocodiles. They sang beautifully and gave some good advice to the audience, "Never smile at a crocodile"!

Thank you to parents for attending and for helping with the assembly preparations.

- Dean Clayden, Head of Year 1
