Boys D1 Football
A promising start to the season for the boys who eased into to a comprehensive first league win over SAS Puxi on Friday evening. Playing a new system, the team looked rock solid in defence and sharp and accurate in attack. They controlled the vast majority of the game allowing only two shots on target from the opposition.
Saturday's games brought further solid performances possession wise if not in goals. With two 1-1 draws against SAS Pudong and Concordia we made the final on Sunday.
Unfortunately against some extremely direct tactics and a far greater squad in terms of numbers our legs simply could not hold out after 4 games in 3 days and we got caught on two occasions ending up losing 2-0. However, an extremely positive start and we look forward to the remainder of the season.

Girls D1 Football
The first game of the weekend was also a league fixture so it was especially pleasing to keep a clean sheet and to secure 1 point in the league (even though the girls did deserve the win). The game finished 0-0.
The rest of the weekend was an opportunity for the girls to put our principals into practice without having to worry about the results, and their performances became more assured as the weekend went on. The first 2 games ended in defeats, but everything came together in the third game where they defeated SAS Puxi 3-0.
The highlights were scoring a headed goal from a corner routine (finished by Paula Simo Braun), implacable defending by the whole team and a wonderful team goal that was finished by Holly Walmesley after a sequence of 6 or 7 passes. Well done to all the girls!

Girls CISSA Volleyball
The second week of the CISSA girls’ volleyball season, and the team has made vast improvements. Great serving and overall playing from Eva Reboud, good serving from Kristen Verity Amm and as a team excellent improvement in calling the ball and setting up an attack. Elyse Deprat captained one of the teams to a victory showing organisation on court. Asia Fernandez Zhou and Hannah Peedle led by example, passing the ball consistently to the target allowing the team to play three touch volleyball.
Boys CISSA Volleyball
The C1 boys played away at SSIS against two teams this week. After a nervous start they settled into a rhythm and were complemented on their style play. They finished the day strongly, with a convincing display of three touch volleyball. – well done to all who played!
