Musicians of All Ages Take to the Stage

12 May 2014

In the midst of the damp, humid weather, 50 students came together at the Soloists’ Recital on Sunday to brighten up the weekend.

  • Soloists' Recital May 2014

The performaners ranged from beginner pianists in Reception to experienced singers in Year 10. The audience were also wowed by performances on the flute, violin, drums, trumpet and the traditional Chinese guzheng. Some students performed on more than one instrument, whilst others performed their own compositions.

This was an incredibly exciting experience for all our performers, who managed to battle through their nerves and perform confidently in front of an audience, many of them for the first time. The music department are very proud of all the musicians who not only played and sang beautifully but also behaved in a mature manner, respecting each other and listening intently to all the performances even when it was not their turn.

The recitals were an opportunity for the students to demonstrate their hard work and commitment to their instruments. All the performers have put in many hours of practise leading up to this event and it was evident as the performances were of a very high standard. Well done!
