BISS Puxi Has Got Talent

22 January 2015

Come along next Thursday 29 January, for BISS Has Got Talent and the Silent Auction, in aid of the Tanzania Expedition.

  • BISS Has Got Talent 2015

This March, 34 students from Years 9 and 10 are off on a trip of a lifetime to Tanzania. One of the requirements for the trip is that they must raise money to go towards the projects they will undertake once there, including the refurbishment of the Seeway Orphanage and Imbaseni Primary School and the construction of goat sheds for local villages. They have set themselves the target of raising 100,000 RMB and have been working hard to reach that goal with stalls at the Christmas Fair, bake sales and sponsored runs to name just a few of the fundraising activities they’ve been doing.

Next Thursday sees their main fundraising event – BISS Has Got Talent and the Silent Auction. Come along from 5:30pm – 8:30pm to see what talent BISS Puxi has to offer and get your hands on some great prizes in the auction!

There are acts from across the school taking part, ranging from dancing and singing to poetry recitals and musical performances. Our hosts for the night will be Thomas Roberts and Arush Garg from Year 7 and the all-important judges, deciding on the winners and runners up, will be Mr Hill, Ms Mitchell, Mr Kelly and Year 12 student Holly Walmesley. There will be a prize awarded for first place as well as certificates for runners-up.

In the Silent Auction, you will have the chance to bid for prizes ranging from restaurant vouchers and golf tuition to a personal shopping session and adoption of a tarantula for the week, so something for everyone! If you have any more prizes to donate  (or anything you could offer as a promise) to the Silent Auction, please get in touch with Ms Rudd (a-rudd@bisspuxi.com?subject=Silent%20Auction">a-rudd@bisspuxi.com).

As well as the Silent Auction, there will also be a bar, bake sale, second-hand book stall and more information about the Tanzania charity projects presented by the students going on the trip, so you can learn more about what they will be doing there.

Ticket prices for the night are just 20 RMB for children and 30 RMB for adults and can be bought on the door. Please email events@bisspuxi.com">events@bisspuxi.com to register your interest.

Schedule for the evening

5:30pm – 6:30pm: Place your bids in the silent auction

6:30pm – 8pm: BISS Has Got Talent

8pm – 8:30pm: Winners of the auction announced

We hope to see you there!
