How long have you been at BISS Puxi? I’ve been here for 3 years, this is my 4th.
What do you enjoy most about working here? The children! They are all so excited and eager to learn. They never fail to make me smile when they come up with ideas I never would have dreamed of. I also think we have a wonderful staff team, I feel really privileged to work with such committed professionals.
What is your favourite thing about living in China? Those random ‘China moments’. I love the diversity of Shanghai and the buzz. One of my favourite things is walking from Peoples’ Square to the Bund through the side streets. The skyline always makes me think ‘I live here!’ with a massive grin on my face.
What subject do you most enjoy teaching in Year 5 and why? That's a difficult question because I enjoy all of it. However, I really delight in teaching Literacy because I have a real love of language and literature. I get a real buzz out of helping children to connect with what they are studying and seeing their enjoyment of learning the different uses of English.
What is the one thing you can’t live without? Decaffeinated Yorkshire tea bags. They remind me of home.
Where are you from? I’m a Black Country girl, from just outside Birmingham in the UK. I grew up opposite a woods and a golf course, so I’m used to open spaces with the city on the doorstep. From my house I can see the floodlights at the West Bromwich Albion football ground!
