Cryptology Challenge Update

15 October 2015

Thank you for the overwhelming response with submissions. Some teams solved the first cipher in 2 minutes!

Well done to Ben McKenna for being the first to solve the Cease Cipher.

Tomorrow’s challenges will be released on our blog at 3pm.

Please read the below as it will give you some hints for the next set of ciphers.

The first challenge was a warm up to give a flavour of what to come and from challenge 2 onwards, points will be awarded.

Please remember to include the names involved in your team. Some submissions for challenge 1 were uncounted because it was difficult to identify the students.

It is important to only put the plain text into the cipher a and b boxes.

Talk again tomorrow at 3pm.

Kieren Reynolds, Head of Computing Science
